Key Tasks and Deliverables:

We’re looking for a talented and experienced content designer/digital content manager to join us to work on content on the GOV.UK website.

1.Write and edit GOV.UK content, ensuring that it’s accurate, timely, high quality (relevant to the audience, easily understood, optimised for search) and to GOV.UK style.

2.Raise tickets with the Government Digital Service for Mainstream content changes and organise the fact- checking of this content with policy teams.

3.Develop and manage relationships with policy, communications and UKVI staff and advise them on appropriate approaches to publishing their content on GOV.UK.

4.Work on projects to improve our GOV.UK content.

5.Use analytics and insight to better understand how GOV.UK content is being used.

 

Experience Required:

1.Writing for the web, with an ability to create and edit content that is clear, usable, written in plain English and accessible to all.

2.Using metrics and user feedback to measure and improve web content.

3.Good understanding of how the Government Digital Service works to manage and develop GOV.UK content.

4.Ability to work with senior stakeholders.

5.Good political and news sense.

6.Educated to degree level.

7.2 years’ experience of writing for the web and delivering high quality web content to tight deadlines.

8.Experience of working in a team to deliver web content, ideally in a public-sector organisation.

9.Experience of working with content publishing systems (ideally, GOV.UK’s Whitehall Publisher).

10.Experience of using Google Analytics to measure and improve web content.
