Key Tasks and Deliverables:

The proposed outputs for the Workforce Manager may include, but not be limited to, supporting the Workforce Lead with the below tasks:

  • Development of a Resourcing Strategy,
  • Review and amendment of job specifications,
  • Advertising and issuing of vacancies for all additional headcount and roles vacated through retirement and/or attrition,
  • Management of the external branding / attraction techniques while managing the internal process and internal candidate pool,
  • Identification and targeting of candidate pool,
  • Engagement with and management of external recruitment specialists,
  • Development of appropriate competency-based interview framework,
  • Management of the interview process from candidate and interviewer coordination, competency-based interview feedback, down selection and approval / rejection
  • Liaising with MOD Centre (for C1s and below) and Government Commercial Function (for B2s and above) throughout the recruitment process
  • Supporting the onboarding process
  • Presentation of business cases for

i.Location strategy including the effectiveness of existing sites v’s alternative locations based on proximity to, or colocation with, other Government Departments (OGDs) and their commercial functions and consideration of proximity to, or strong transport links to, key Defence and Government sites,

ii.Build / Buy / Borrow options in match the market and talent pool for surge, business case led resource

  • Liaison with the relevant security and vetting agencies to ensure effective recruitment and transition.
  • Oversight of all candidate onboarding activities.
  • Generation of an enduring candidate pipeline to hire ahead of the need
